Experienced
Doug began earning his fiduciary experience in 1983 when he joined Valley National Bank of Arizona as a Trust Tax Administrator. By 1985 Doug was managing the Tax Department which produced 6,300 fiduciary tax returns and over 400 Federal Form 706 annually.
In 1990 Doug moved to trust administration to manage selected trust and probate accounts that had issues such as illiquidity, environmental challenges or were involved in litigation.
It was in 1996 Doug accepted an offer to move to Colorado to work in Wells Fargo's Denver Trust office. Moving to Colorado was an offer Doug could not refuse.
After joining Wells Fargo, Doug went on to manage the Colorado and then the Colorado Springs Trust offices. After Wells Fargo, Doug helped Merrill Lynch open and manage a regional trust office in Denver and worked as an Investment and Trust Consultant for Key Bank in Colorado.
Over the years, Doug has been an instructor for the AICPA and Continuing Legal Education of Colorado, Inc., conducting classes on preparation of various fiduciary tax returns, specific income tax topics and helping lawyers understand how corporate fiduciaries interpret the language of trusts and wills.
While very thankful for the terrific experience Doug received while employed by corporate trustees, having a CPA practice that is customized to meet more of the needs of clients is stimulating and gratifying.
